URL Blocker Privacy Policy

Applies to the URL Blocker browser extension

Last updated: 14 May 2026

URL Blocker is built around a single promise: your data stays on your device.  The extension has no servers, no analytics, no accounts, and no tracking of any kind.

What we collect

Nothing.  We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information whatsoever.

What the extension stores

Your blocklist and settings are saved using the browser’s local extension storage on your computer.  This data never leaves your device and is removed when you uninstall the extension.  No browsing history is recorded: URL Blocker does not keep a log of the sites you visit or the requests it blocks.

Permissions and why they are used

declarativeNetRequest lets the browser block the addresses on your list using its built-in rules engine.  With this approach the extension never sees the content of your traffic; it only tells the browser which patterns to block.

storage saves your blocklist and on/off preference locally.

The optional tabs permission is requested only if you switch on “Close blocked pop-up tabs.”  It allows the extension to read a new tab’s address so it can close a tab that a site tried to open to a blocked destination.  You can revoke it at any time, and the feature is off by default.

URL Blocker requests no host permissions and cannot read, modify, or inject anything into the pages you visit.

Third parties

There are none.  No data is sent to Speednet Group or anyone else.  The extension makes no network requests of its own.

Data retention and deletion

Because all data is local, you are in complete control.  You can export your list at any time, clear the entire list with one button, or uninstall the extension to remove all stored data.

Children’s privacy

The extension collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will ship with a new release of the extension and the “last updated” date above will change.
